Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct risk-based audits of branches and head office operations, including surprise cash counts
- Review loan appraisal, approvals, disbursements, collateral records, arrears and recoveries
- Audit cash handling, bank reconciliations, ATM settlements and digital transactions
- Assess expenditure, procurement, payroll, assets and accounting controls
- Identify control weaknesses and fraud indicators and conduct authorised investigations
- Prepare clear audit reports and verify implementation of agreed corrective actions
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field
- At least three years of relevant audit experience, preferably in microfinance or financial services
- CPA, ACCA or CIA qualification, or demonstrable progress towards one, is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills, professional judgement and report writing ability
- High integrity, confidentiality and ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel regularly to branches
