Job Description
The Senior Internal Auditor – Technical will assess the adequacy of internal controls, review technical procedures, and recommend necessary improvements. The role includes carrying out special audit investigations, coordinating audits to ensure value-for-money, and supporting the preparation of audit plans and reports. The Senior Auditor will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, developing monitoring frameworks, and influencing senior management on risk management and governance. They will coordinate external audits, follow up on recommendations, and continuously promote operational efficiency and process improvement.

How to Apply
Develop and implement audit plans to align with company objectives.
Review internal controls for adequacy and effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvements.
Conduct special audit investigations as assigned by management.
Coordinate value-for-money audits for projects within the company.
Support the preparation and presentation of audit plans and reports.
Oversee audits and ensure that corrective actions are taken and followed up.
Develop a compliance monitoring framework to ensure adherence to internal policies, laws, and regulations.
Identify compliance gaps and communicate them to business units for timely resolution.
Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions from audit recommendations.
Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and promote continuous improvement.
Review and analyze internal audit procedures, suggesting mitigations for identified risks.
Ensure process goals align with company objectives and are met effectively.
Prepare clear and timely audit reports for supervisors.
Advise and influence senior management to improve governance and internal control systems.
Coordinate external audits and ensure the implementation of external audit recommendations.

An Honor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Mining, Industrial Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Geoscience, or Mining Engineering from a recognized university.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in technical engagements and projects with demonstrated quality assurance and leadership skills.
Professional qualifications in accounting (CIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are an added advantage.
Membership in relevant professional bodies is a plus.
Strong proficiency in auditing, compliance management, and risk management.
Excellent analytical, testing, and sampling skills.
Strong professionalism and ethical standards.
Knowledge of audit strategy, methodology, and scope.
In-depth understanding of risk, control, and governance processes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
