Duties and Responsibilities
Innovation Strategy Development:
Design and implement innovation strategies to align with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities in engineering that could impact the business.
Drive long-term innovation initiatives while also delivering short-term engineering solutions to meet current demands.
Research & Development (R&D):
Lead R&D efforts to explore new technologies, materials, or methodologies that can enhance product development and engineering processes.
Collaborate with research teams to assess the feasibility of new ideas and ensure that innovations are practical and viable.
Stay updated on the latest technological advancements, market trends, and engineering breakthroughs relevant to the business.
Project Management & Execution:
Oversee the entire lifecycle of engineering innovation projects, from concept through to prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
Set clear objectives, milestones, and timelines for innovation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, product designers, and other stakeholders, to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Address technical challenges or bottlenecks that arise during the development of new products or processes.
Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and manufacturing, to integrate innovative engineering solutions across the organization.
Facilitate communication between engineering teams and upper management, presenting new ideas, technologies, and product opportunities.
Collaborate with external partners, such as universities, research institutions, or startups, to incorporate new ideas and technologies into the company's offerings.

Qualifications and Competencies
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, software, or other relevant fields) is typically required.
Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s or PhD) in engineering, technology management, or business (MBA) are often preferred for higher-level roles.
Experience:
At least 5–10 years of experience in engineering roles, with a focus on R&D, product development, or process engineering.
Previous experience in managing innovation or R&D projects in an engineering setting is often required.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex engineering projects.
Skills:
Leadership & Team Management: Ability to lead innovation teams, motivate staff, and drive collaboration across departments.
Project Management: Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including setting timelines, managing resources, and tracking progress.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of engineering principles and technologies relevant to the industry (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software engineering).
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.
