Job Description
The Specialist will collaborate with program and district teams to ensure technical soundness in Care & Treatment programs. Responsibilities include supporting return to care systems, multi-month dispensing (MMD), treatment literacy, psychosocial support for PLHIV, viral load monitoring, TB and PMTCT/EID service support, ensuring availability of commodities, data analysis for quality improvement, work plan development, and documentation of best practices.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate strategic work planning and implementation for quality HIV Testing, ART linkage, and Care & Treatment services for PLHIV.
Collaborate with community and PSS advisors to strengthen facility and community efforts for targeted HIV case finding and ART linkages.
Support viral load and quality of care monitoring and management of viral load non-suppression and treatment failure.
Ensure availability of adult ARVs, HIV testing kits, viral load kits, and quality care commodities.
Participate in routine data analysis, performance reviews, and data use for quality improvement initiatives.
Support access to TB and PMTCT/EID services for eligible adults.
Develop master concepts, costed work plans, and reports within stipulated timelines.
Document care and treatment success stories and best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor of Medicine & General Surgery or Diploma in Clinical Medicine; Master’s in Public Health or Project Management is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years recent experience in HIV/TB programs.
Willingness to work and travel in rural Ugandan settings.
Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
