Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Transport containerised cargo safely between designated locations.
- Carry out pre trip checks and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Maintain delivery documentation and trip records.
- Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations and company procedures.
- Report mechanical faults and incidents promptly to the Transport Manager.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid heavy goods driving licence with relevant classes.
- Several years of experience driving heavy trucks, preferably with containerised cargo.
- Clean driving record and knowledge of Ugandan routes.
Skills & Competencies:
- Safe driving and defensive driving.
- Vehicle care and inspection.
- Time management and reliability.
