Health and Safety Officer

Paper Toils (U) Ltd, a paper and packaging manufacturer based in Mukono, is looking for a Health and Safety Officer to drive workplace safety compliance across the plant.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Implement and monitor the company health and safety policy across the plant
Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments, and close out identified hazards
Enforce use of personal protective equipment and safe working procedures
Investigate incidents and near misses, and prepare corrective action reports
Organise safety inductions and refresher training for staff
Maintain safety records and support compliance with occupational safety regulations

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma in Sciences, Engineering, Safety, Health, Environmental field, or any other related course

Skills & Competencies:

Practical understanding of occupational health and safety requirements in a manufacturing setting
Attention to detail and ability to enforce safety rules firmly and fairly
Good record keeping and reporting skills
Strong communication skills for training and advising staff
