AGRA is hiring a Head of Grants to lead the redesign, implementation and continuous improvement of its grants management policies, operations and systems, ensuring compliance and effective allocation of donor funds across programmes and countries.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Lead development of all grant-related policies and procedures for approval by the Chief Operating Officer
Facilitate production of grant materials for each grant and programme-related contract
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for grants administration
Lead grants portfolio reviews to establish health and performance of grants and advise on remedial actions
Provide strategic oversight and business ownership of AGRA's grants management systems
Partner with ICT, Finance and Programme teams to drive system optimisation and technology adoption
Lead grants management capability-building initiatives across the organisation
Advise the President, Divisional Heads and COO on proposal development and incoming grants
Engage the Board Grants Review Committee and provide Board updates and reports
Oversee preparation, quality assurance and processing of grant agreements and supporting documentation
Lead talent management within the grants function including workforce planning and succession
Design and structure AGRA's annual grant-making budget and plan the flow of grants over the year
Provide analytics on grants performance and build fiscal administration systems
Integrate grant reporting into donor, board and annual reports

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
Minimum 8 years' experience in finance and general accounting
At least 3 years at senior management level in grants management in a multi-donor, multi-programme international NGO
Good working knowledge of not-for-profit and private foundation law and US funding regulations
A Master's degree is an added advantage
Professional certification in grants management, project management, finance or compliance is desirable
