Job Description
The purpose of the Job is to take a lead in financial management including credit control, treasury, financing, accounts payable, assets, master data, statutory reporting and insurance activities. The role pays heed to managing the company’s financial risk, balance sheet risk, credit risk and liquidity risk. This role will be based at the Kampala head office.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory financial statements for Yalelo Uganda.
- Act as the custodian for the Interim and final external audit planning.
- Ensure that the monthly Credit Committee meetings are planned, that the credit control function is well prepared for the meetings.
- Prepare the monthly cash conversion report, review the full year cash flow forecast and prepare the yearly cash flow budget.
- Ensure that all direct reports understand and comply with IFRS.
- Engage with Banks, inter-companies, External Auditors, Suppliers, Veris Treasury and Customers to resolve issues and protect YU’s interests.
- Act as the Business Process Owner (BPO) owner for the assigned Internal controls.
- Ultimate custodian for all balance sheet accounts in the trial balance as well as Income statement.
- Act as the Manager for YU Insurance portfolio in terms of risks and premiums for all insurable risks.
