Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Project Accountant, the Finance Assistant will handle the disbursement of funds, support reconciliation of field accountabilities, maintain documentation and ensure timely processing of transactions. The role involves scanning and organizing payment records, preparing mobile money payment files, and maintaining financial databases. The Finance Assistant will also contribute to capturing transactions in accounting software, assist in monthly closures, and support audit and compliance tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and familiarity with donor-funded financial operations.

  • Prepare payment vouchers and mobile money payment requests

  • Print and share proof of payment documents with beneficiaries

  • Maintain up-to-date records of mobile money disbursements

  • Review and organize vendor payment documentation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field

  • CPA (part qualification) is an added advantage

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience, preferably in a USAID-funded NGO setting

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and Navision accounting systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • High ethical standards and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a multi-functional, fast-paced environment
