Job Purpose
MOGO Uganda is looking for proactive and goal-oriented Field Collection Officers to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for recovering overdue payments through field visits, follow-ups, and where necessary, repossessions. You will play a key role in maintaining professional customer relationships while ensuring compliance with MOGO's values and customer service standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct field visits and make follow-up calls to customers with overdue payments, ensuring professionalism and empathy in every interaction.
Assess customers’ willingness and ability to pay, and negotiate effective repayment plans.
Achieve daily collection targets and submit accurate daily reports to your supervisor.
Investigate and resolve customer issues or disputes related to payment.
Accurately tag account statuses in the system (e.g., promise to pay, unreachable, stolen asset).
Collaborate with local authorities, guarantors, and community leaders to locate customers who have defaulted.
Address customer inquiries and complaints, escalating unresolved cases as needed.
Ensure full compliance with internal policies and relevant legal or regulatory requirements.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
Effective communication (both verbal and written)
High integrity and professionalism
Strong investigative skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Familiarity with local geography and communities
Good organizational and multitasking skills
Basic computer skills (MS Office)
Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in any discipline
1–2 years of field experience in credit collection or debt recovery
Experience in microfinance or financial services is an added advantage
Valid riding permit is preferred
