Job Description
The Field Agent serves as the cooperative’s frontline representative within assigned neighborhoods—collecting members’ daily contributions, verifying new members through field-level KYC, safeguarding funds, and remitting collections each day. The role maintains meticulous records, prepares daily/weekly reports, engages communities to grow membership, resolves basic member queries, and escalates issues promptly. Success requires trustworthiness, strong numeracy and record-keeping, local area familiarity, and consistent field presence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Collect daily thrift (savings) from registered members in assigned routes.
Record all transactions accurately; reconcile collections daily.
Conduct field onboarding and KYC verification for new contributors.
Remit all collections daily to designated account/office; maintain zero tolerance for delays/misappropriation.
Submit timely daily/weekly activity and collection reports, including field observations.
Maintain strong member relationships; address basic inquiries and escalate issues.
Support growth via member mobilization and community engagement.
Safeguard cash and working tools; adhere to operational and compliance procedures.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements
OND (higher qualifications an advantage).
2–3 years’ relevant experience (microfinance/cooperative collections, agency banking, field sales, community mobilization, insurance field collections, or traditional Ajo/Esusu/Adashe).
Must reside in Port Harcourt or be very familiar with coverage areas.
Strong numeracy, basic record-keeping, and smartphone/app literacy.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; high integrity and reliability; able to work with minimal supervision.
