Environment Inspector - Air Quality and Noise

Description (Public)

The Environment Inspector - Air Quality and Noise conducts inspections and monitoring of air and noise pollution sources, enforces the national air quality and noise standards and advises on mitigation measures.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct routine and compliance inspections of air quality and noise sources
Carry out ambient air quality and noise monitoring and maintain monitoring records
Enforce the National Environment (Air Quality) Regulations and noise standards
Prepare inspection and monitoring reports and recommend enforcement action
Investigate air and noise pollution complaints from the public and other stakeholders
Advise developers and facilities on air quality and noise mitigation measures

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

O and A level certificates
Bachelor's degree and postgraduate qualification transcripts and certificates where applicable
Professional certificates where applicable
Employment letters as evidence of experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field

Skills & Competencies:

Field inspection and monitoring skills
Ability to interpret monitoring data and write technical reports
Firm, impartial enforcement of standards
