Job Description

The Environment and Biodiversity Intern will be responsible for supporting various initiatives aimed at conserving biodiversity and ensuring environmental compliance along the pipeline route. The intern will assist in monitoring flora and fauna, contribute to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, and help develop and implement environmental management plans. Additional responsibilities include data collection and analysis, organizing biodiversity databases, and preparing detailed environmental reports. The role also involves working with community stakeholders, government bodies such as NEMA and NFA, and contributing to awareness programs and environmental research.


The intern will be based in the EACOP Office in Kampala and will report directly to the Environment and Biodiversity Manager. He/she will also collaborate closely with project and contractor teams under the supervision of the Environment and Biodiversity Team.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.

  • Must submit an official university introduction letter and a copy of the student ID.

  • Must be available to work full-time during the internship period.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
