Nation Media Group Uganda is hiring an English News Anchor and Reporter to present news in depth and link audiences with news makers, driving credibility and viewership across broadcast and social platforms.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Take instructions and briefs from the National News Editor and Duty Editors on stories to cover.
Analyse and broadcast news received from various sources.
Present news on air in an eloquent, clear and concise manner.
Telecast live bulletins and conduct interviews from remote locations.
Prepare for and investigate breaking news developments.
Research and analyse background information for complete and accurate reporting.
Gather in-depth information through research, interviews and news sources.
Develop ideas for features and commentaries.
Apply NMG editorial and social media policies to all published content.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

University degree in Mass Communication or a related field from an accredited institution.
Diploma in Journalism.
At least 2 to 4 years of daily newsroom experience with emphasis on writing and reporting.
2 years of experience as a news anchor or presenter.

Skills & Competencies:

News sense and writing.
Live broadcast presentation.
Audio-visual editing.
Accuracy under deadline pressure.
Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
