Lugazi Diocese- MUWRP program invites qualified persons to support implementation of the DREAMS program among vulnerable and at-risk Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), and to reach Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM), with HIV and violence prevention interventions especially in locations of high gender-based violence and violence against children in Kayunga District.

Job Description
The Driver for the DREAMS Project at Lugazi Diocese will be responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services to staff, visitors, and other authorized passengers as well as ensuring the maintenance of the project vehicles. The driver will also be tasked with supporting other logistical functions related to the implementation of the DREAMS Project.

Supervisory Controls: The individual will serve under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Program Coordinator
Contract Tenure: 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funding
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Driving Services:Provide safe, timely, and efficient transport services to the DREAMS Project staff, visitors, and project beneficiaries.
Ensure the vehicle is operated in compliance with road safety standards and traffic laws.
Transport project materials and documents as needed.
Drive staff to and from field locations for the implementation of the DREAMS Project activities.
Vehicle Maintenance:Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the assigned vehicle at all times.
Ensure regular vehicle maintenance, including oil checks, tire pressure, fuel, and fluid levels, and maintain a log of any repairs or maintenance conducted.
Monitor the vehicle’s mechanical condition, report any faults or damage, and ensure timely repairs.
Schedule and arrange for vehicle servicing in a timely manner to avoid breakdowns during project activities.
Keep the vehicle documents up to date, including insurance and road permits.
Logistical Support:Assist in loading and offloading of materials, equipment, and supplies for field activities.
Assist with the delivery and collection of documents and other materials related to the DREAMS Project activities.
Provide logistical support during DREAMS events, meetings, and workshops, including setting up venues, preparing refreshments, and ensuring the availability of necessary materials.
Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and mileage.
Complete vehicle logbooks on a daily basis, ensuring all trips, fuel, and maintenance activities are recorded and submitted to the supervisor on a regular basis.
Track fuel consumption and submit monthly reports to the Project Manager for analysis.
Safety and Security:Ensure the safety of passengers by adhering to road safety regulations and maintaining a safe driving environment.
Monitor security conditions during travel, particularly in field locations, and report any concerns to the supervisor.
Keep the vehicle secured at all times, especially when parked or left unattended.
Implement security protocols for passengers and vehicle usage.
