The USAID Local Partner Health Services – Kigezi & Lango Activity is implemented by the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC). The program supports the delivery of quality, integrated HIV/AIDS and TB services to communities in the Kigezi, Lango, Ankole, and Acholi sub-regions. JCRC is a nationally recognized medical and research institution that offers technical assistance and direct service delivery across Uganda.

Job Description
Under the USAID-funded Local Partner Health Services Activity, the Driver will facilitate the secure and timely transportation of project personnel and items including drugs, laboratory reagents, sundries, and official documents. The position also involves maintaining vehicle cleanliness, ensuring compliance with safety standards, logging vehicle usage, and advising the Transport Officer on service requirements and repairs. The Driver must uphold a high level of integrity and be available to support operational mobility across the supported regions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Transport project staff and supplies in a safe and timely manner
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and roadworthiness
Record all vehicle movements and report mechanical issues
Ensure all transport-related paperwork is complete and accurate
Deliver and collect items with proper documentation and signatures
Communicate vehicle maintenance and service needs to the Transport Officer
Uphold a professional driving record
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E) minimum
Training in Automobile Mechanics, Defensive Driving, and First Aid
Valid driving license with classes B, C1, D1
At least 3 years of professional driving experience
Demonstrated dependability, integrity, and self-motivation
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Knowledge of the Lango language is an added advantage
