Description (Public)
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Drive staff and official visitors to destinations as directed.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, fuelled and in good mechanical condition.
- Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report faults promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements using logbooks.
- Ensure safety of passengers and goods while in transit.
- Comply with traffic and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist in loading and unloading official materials and documents.
- Ensure security of the vehicle and its contents.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
- Valid driving permit with three classes.
- Two years relevant working experience at a similar level in a reputable organisation.
Skills & Competencies:
- Defensive driving.
- Vehicle maintenance and inspection.
- Traffic laws and regulations.
- Logbook management.
- Road safety awareness.
- Reliability and punctuality.

Mandela National Stadium often referred to as Namboole Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It is currently used mostly for football matches, although other sports are also practiced. The stadium has a capacity of 40,202 people. The stadium was built with a grant of $36 million dollars from the People’s Republic of China. The 40,202 capacity sports complex was built with a $36m Chinese government grant and opened in 1997. Mandela National Stadium has a mandate to promote sports and community development through provision of adequate sports facilities both for national and international competitions.
