Internship Duration: 6 months, starting from January 2026
Background
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is currently implementing a project “Strengthening District Health Systems for Improved Access to and Utilization of Quality integrated RMNCAH Services in Karamoja”. The Funding for this Project is from the Embassy of Ireland in Uganda The Actions are spearheaded by CUAMM in Partnership with the Ministry of health (MOH), Uganda Blood transfusion services (UBTS) Mbarara University Center for Simulation, Health professional associations, Moroto Regional referral hospital and the 9 District Local government in Karamoja.
Internship Specification
Doctors with Africa CUAMM Uganda is excited to announce the launch of a Youth Internship Program aimed at providing valuable training and experience in health, We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated young individuals who have graduated within the past 2 years to fill the following internship positions across 9 districts of Karamoja. This is not a salaried position but monthly stipend will be provided to all successful applicants for the 6 months duration of the internship.
Available Positions:
Diploma Nurse (Pediatric qualification 1 position) Play a crucial role in delivering essential healthcare services to community
The Paediatric Nurse Intern will support the delivery of quality child health services, contributing to improved survival and well-being of children through integrated and patient-centered care.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Support paediatric outpatient and inpatient care services
- Assist in assessment, treatment, and monitoring of sick children
- Support immunization, nutrition, and child growth monitoring programs
- Provide caregiver education on child health, hygiene, and nutrition
- Assist in record-keeping and health data reporting
- Participate in community health outreaches and referrals
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and child safety standards
