• Install, configure, administer, maintain and upgrade approved enterprise database platforms under change control.
• Monitor database availability, health, jobs, query performance, storage, replication and capacity, and correct abnormalities.
• Configure, monitor and verify backups and recovery mechanisms, including point-in-time recovery and restoration tests.
• Support high availability, replication and failover arrangements with infrastructure and application teams.
• Implement authorised patches, upgrades, configuration hardening and vulnerability remediation with rollback plans.
• Administer database accounts, roles and permissions under least privilege and segregation of duties.
• Protect data confidentiality, integrity and availability through approved encryption, retention and access controls.
• Provide database support for mission-critical applications including customer transaction and vending, billing, ERP and integrations.
• Support development, test and production environments, including schema changes, migrations and controlled refreshes.
• Diagnose and resolve database incidents, perform root-cause analysis and document remedial actions.
• Undertake capacity planning and performance tuning, including indexing, query analysis and resource forecasting.
• Maintain database inventories, configuration baselines, runbooks, backup schedules and technical documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience administering production enterprise databases.
• Practical administration of at least one major platform: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Exposure to SAP HANA is an added advantage.
