Job Description
ASA Microfinance (U) Ltd is seeking for professional, confident, self-motivated, and committed team players to reinforce its capacity by filling the following vacant positions:
Job Summary:
The Credit Officer’s role is to originate, appraise, disburse, and monitor credit facilities in line with the institution’s credit policy, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite, while ensuring portfolio quality and sustainable growth.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive and assess loan applications for completeness and eligibility.
- Conduct client due diligence (KYC, AML/CFT, CRB checks).
- Carry out client visits, business assessments, and cash flow analysis.
- Prepare credit appraisal reports and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with credit limits, pricing, and approval mandates.
- Coordinate loan documentation, and disbursement.
- Adhere to credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure insider lending, related-party transactions, and prohibited activities are not practiced.
- Support internal audits, reviews, and regulatory inspections.
- Report suspected fraud, policy breaches, or irregularities promptly.
- Monitor loan performance and ensure timely repayments.
- Maintain accurate loan records and update the core banking system.
- Identify early warning signs and follow up on delinquent accounts.
- Participating in collections, restructurings, and recoveries when required.
- Maintain Portfolio at Risk (PAR) within approved thresholds.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Provide accurate product information and customer support.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
