Job Description
The Client Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of client engagements by managing billing, monitoring work-in-progress, budgeting, forecasting, and providing insights for decision-making. This role acts as a bridge between project delivery teams and the finance department, ensuring all projects remain on track financially and are aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in financial management within professional services, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to support successful client outcomes.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage client billing including purchase orders, invoices, and supporting documentation
Provide regular financial reports to clients and internal stakeholders
Monitor and update WIP (Work In Progress) commentary and project financial status
Track client budgets and forecasts, proactively addressing financial risks
Collaborate with project managers and client teams to ensure financial alignment
Contribute to process improvements in financial reporting and internal controls
Deliver financial insights and reports to support data-driven decisions
Support operational success and project profitability

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
MBA or certifications (CPA, CFA) are a plus
At least 5 years of experience in client finance or financial management, preferably in advertising, digital marketing, or media
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools (e.g., ERP systems, Tableau)
Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
