Description (Public)
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and submit customs documentation for imports and exports
Follow up on approvals and clearances from relevant government agencies
Ensure compliance with all Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) regulations
Track shipments and provide timely updates to clients
Coordinate with transporters to ensure timely delivery of goods
Maintain accurate records of customs declarations and shipments
Handle any issues that arise during the customs clearance process
Liaise with clients to gather required shipment information
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Logistics, or related field
Experience:
1 to 2 years in a customs clearing and forwarding role
Key Competencies and Skills:
Strong knowledge of URA customs procedures and systems
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Proficiency in relevant software tools used in customs declaration processes
