The Civil Works / Structural Supervisor supports the Deputy Construction Manager North on site, supervising civil and structural fabrication and installation works to ensure the contractor meets project standards, schedule and quality requirements on an oil and gas construction project.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Support the Deputy Construction Manager North so that the contractor is fully conversant with company and project civil and structural standards and procedures.
Oversee civil and structural works for quality assurance and control against the detailed engineering design and specifications.
Act as primary supervisor for a dedicated area of the site, following the sequence of work fronts against the Construction Level-3 schedule.
Undertake regular site visits to assess work quality and delivery and intervene where activities fall behind schedule.
Monitor progress and prepare performance reports and forecasts of manpower requirements.
Identify weak points that affect productivity and propose corrective actions.
Supervise interfaces between the company, the construction contractor, subcontractors and civil and structural site personnel.
Ensure compliance with HSE rules, environmental requirements and project quality procedures and attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

HNC or equivalent education, preferably with a recognised safety course such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in oil and gas and petrochemical industry infrastructure or construction projects.
Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, standards and procedures.
General awareness of company general specifications and experience with other major IOC or contractor construction projects.
Fully conversant with applicable oil and gas international codes, standards and industry practices.
Good awareness of other disciplines and experience of responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
Good interpersonal and organisational skills, computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
