OLK HealthTech Consult is dedicated to advancing Biomedical Engineering and enhancing healthcare systems through specialized Training of Trainers (ToT), capacity building, medical equipment maintenance, and research and development. We are currently seeking motivated and qualified Biomedical Engineering Graduates to join our team as Graduate Trainee – Technical Assistants. Successful candidates will support the implementation of a Biomedical Engineering Program in Tororo District.
This is a three-month engagement with potential for extension, depending on performance and project needs.

How to Apply
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair oxygen therapy and other medical devices using appropriate tools and techniques.
Conduct preventive maintenance in line with manufacturers’ guidelines, applicable standards, and internal procedures.
Train healthcare workers on proper usage and handling of biomedical equipment through hands-on demonstrations.
Provide technical support and operational advice to clinical staff regarding medical and oxygen therapy devices.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all service activities including inspections, repairs, and adjustments.
Coordinate and schedule on-site visits; respond promptly to equipment repair requests.
Monitor equipment usage and performance using tools such as job reports and utilization tracking sheets.
Ensure all serviced equipment are clearly labeled with service details and relevant standard operating procedures.
Liaise with health facility personnel, clinical users (e.g., doctors, nurses), and OLK management to provide updates and feedback.
Support design and implementation of relevant biomedical projects where required.
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized institution (graduated within the past 2 years).
Between 3 months and 1 year of experience working in a healthcare facility or hospital environment.
Familiarity with medical equipment service procedures, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
Required Skills
Proficiency in using computer-based tools, including database systems and online platforms for documentation and reporting.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Understanding of electrical and mechanical principles related to biomedical equipment safety.
Ability to use basic testing and repair tools for electrical and mechanical equipment.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written (proficiency in English is required).
Ability to conduct user training for clinical and support staff.
Eagerness to learn and work with a variety of medical equipment in real-world healthcare settings.
