Biomedical Engineer

The Biomedical Engineer reports to the Facility Manager and is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, calibration and repair of medical equipment at Premier Hospital.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Install, inspect, maintain, calibrate and repair medical equipment
Maintain and repair diagnostic, monitoring and therapeutic equipment
Ensure compliance with biomedical safety standards and infection prevention requirements
Keep maintenance records and support equipment procurement decisions
Troubleshoot technical faults and coordinate with equipment suppliers

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering or a related field
Minimum three years' experience as a Biomedical Engineer in a busy hospital or healthcare setting
Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing diagnostic, monitoring and therapeutic equipment
Knowledge of biomedical safety standards, infection prevention and medical device regulations
Registration with the Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK) or a relevant professional body
Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
