Biomass Verification Supervisor

Yalelo Uganda is hiring a Biomass Verification Supervisor to oversee all aspects of biomass verification at its tilapia farm, including data capture, weighing and counting discipline, manpower deployment and floor-level operations, ensuring accurate and traceable records in the YU Fish Count App.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Capture or oversee capture of all weighed and counted records in the YU Fish Count application
Maintain traceability records and reporting discipline across biomass verification
Ensure the weighing scale is properly tared before any weighing is done
Confirm that only authorised users submit data into the application and escalate data issues to the Team Lead
Organise workflow and manpower deployment for biomass verification
Ensure biomass verification only proceeds in the presence of security
Monitor counting accuracy, weighing discipline, hygiene and safe handling
Manage discrepancies, recounts and first-level floor issues
Support verification of crate release at operational control and prevent batch mixing at receiving
Conduct regular spot-checks and audits of weighing and counting stations
Train, coach and support general workers and data capturers on scooping, weighing, counting and data entry
Compile and submit shift reports on biomass data, discrepancies and corrective actions taken

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture
Strong leadership and supervisory ability
High attention to detail with good organisational and workflow management skills

Skills & Competencies:

Strong communication skills for escalation and cross-team coordination
Integrity and reporting discipline, especially with data and traceability
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure when managing operations
