Adviser - Programmes

• Contribute to strategic planning, annual work plan, and programme development
• Support partner districts in planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
• Undertake regular field visits to programme locations and prepare timely reports
• Monitor district-level activities ensuring alignment with approved plans and budgets
• Represent the Embassy in technical working groups and coordination forums
• Support reviews of partnership agreements with Government of Uganda
• Identify opportunities for collaboration and maintain professional networks
• Contribute to programme reporting and data collection

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Project Management, Public Administration, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline required
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in development programme management
• Experience in education, WASH, local government development, or related sectors

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of project management cycle
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong organizational, coordination, and administrative skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills
• Willingness to undertake frequent travel within Uganda
