Job Summary:
Canaan Travels Uganda Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with expertise in air ticketing, administration, and marketing to join our team. As an Admin and Reservations Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and booking travel arrangements for clients, providing excellent customer service, and driving business growth.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, with dotted reporting lines to the Directors, your responsibilities will include:

How to Apply
Key Responsibilities:
Research destinations, travel modes, and accommodations to provide tailored travel solutions for clients
Design and sell cost-effective travel packages, including air ticketing, hotel bookings, and tour arrangements
Issue and manage air tickets using Amadeus, Galileo, and other GDS systems
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our services and increase sales
Create engaging content for our website and social media channels to drive marketing efforts
Coordinate logistics, including transportation and accommodations, to ensure seamless travel experiences
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on travel requirements, visa regulations, and health formalities
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally
Meet sales targets and contribute to the company’s revenue growth
Manage administrative tasks, including data entry, documentation, and reporting
Collaborate with team members to achieve business objectives
Administrative Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client transactions and interactions
Manage and reconcile company accounts, including petty cash and invoices
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and other financial documents
Provide administrative support to the team as needed
Marketing Responsibilities:
Develop and implement marketing plans to promote our services and increase sales
Manage social media accounts and create engaging content to drive engagement and sales
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships and collaborations
Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform marketing strategies
Support the development of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and website content
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business, Marketing, or a related field
Proven experience as a travel consultant or in a related role
Expert knowledge of GDS systems, including Amadeus and Galileo. IATA certification is an added advantage
Proficiency is working with an office suite, like Microsoft office suite, Zoho suite and others.
Strong sales, customer service, and marketing skills including representation in Expos.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in English; additional languages a plus
Personal travel experience preferred
Preferred Qualities:
BA Degree in Tourism or Business Administration or related qualification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in using an office suite and a cloud system
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills
Familiarity with travel industry systems and software
Passion for travel and tourism
Experience with digital marketing tools, including social media and email marketing
