Job Description
Africa Safari Trips is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join its finance team in Kampala. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting compliance with statutory requirements, and contributing to effective financial management. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting the company’s growing operations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Post and reconcile mobile money (MTN and Airtel) transactions, including customer income and receipts.
- Ensure full compliance with EFRIS/URA requirements by issuing, recording, and maintaining accurate invoices and receipts.
- Record supplier invoices, park fees, fleet costs, and other operational expenses accurately and timely.
- Prepare financial reports, including periodic financial statements and weekly payment vouchers.
- Reconcile accounts payable, mobile money balances, bank accounts, and supplier statements.
- Track and manage fleet-related expenses such as fuel, vehicle maintenance, mileage, and driver reports.
- Work closely with drivers and operations staff to ensure accurate expense reporting and reconciliations.
- Support overall finance operations, audits, and internal controls as required.
