Igongo Country Hotel and Cultural Centre, a 4-star hotel in Mbarara, is seeking an Accountant to manage revenues, cash operations, financial reporting and compliance with taxation policies.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Manage revenues received and dispersed, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general ledger reporting
Handle cash operations and reconcile daily deposits
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, tax returns and audits
Support budget preparation, inventories and year-end audit processes
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions and city ledger accounts
Maintain accurate accounting databases and ensure compliance with taxation policies
Provide timely billing, follow up on collections and resolve discrepancies
Uphold company health, safety and security standards while delivering excellent customer service

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
CPA/ACCA Level 2 is required
Previous experience in hospitality finance is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
