Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliations, payroll support, and statutory compliance. The role requires ensuring accurate financial data entry, preparing tax returns, and remitting statutory deductions. The Accountant will also assist in financial planning, forecasting, and audit support by maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Process, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Record and monitor financial transactions in accounting software.
Manage accounts payable and receivable records.
Track and monitor company expenses.
Assist in payroll processing and ensure statutory deductions are accurate.
Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax) in compliance with KRA requirements.
Ensure timely remittance of NHIF, NSSF, and PAYE.
Provide support for internal and external audits.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA/ACCA qualification or equivalent (completed or in progress).
At least 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
