About the Organisation
Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a statutory government agency established under the Free Zones (Amendment) Act No. 30 of 2024. Formed through the merger of the Uganda Free Zones Authority and the Uganda Export Promotion Board, UFZEPA operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives. The Authority is mandated to oversee the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision, and control of free zones, as well as the development, promotion, and coordination of all export-related activities in Uganda.
UFZEPA aims to stimulate foreign investment, enhance export competitiveness, create employment opportunities, and drive sustainable economic growth by providing a conducive environment for businesses. Job Description
Position: Driver
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary:
The Driver will be responsible for operating and maintaining the assigned vehicle in compliance with Government policies, traffic regulations, and operational guidelines.
Salary: UFZEPA – 8
Contract Type: Three (3) Year Contract (Renewable based on satisfactory performance)
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
Drive the vehicle for official assignments and duties
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including logbooks, insurance, licenses, and service cards
Report technical or mechanical issues to the supervising or transport officer
Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained at all times

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Person Specifications
a) Academic Qualifications:
Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or equivalent
Valid driving permit
b) Work Experience:
No prior work experience required
c) Competencies Required:
i) Technical Competencies:
Safe and responsible driving
Basic vehicle maintenance skills
Ability to manage records and vehicle-related documentation
Knowledge and adherence to traffic laws and regulations
