The Plant Operator II Maintenance (Mechanical) is responsible for performing mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure the smooth and safe operation of plant equipment and machinery. The role supports preventive and corrective maintenance efforts to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency.

How to Apply
Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine and emergency mechanical maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and equipment, including pumps, conveyors, engines, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical malfunctions or breakdowns to ensure minimal production disruptions. Conduct dismantling, cleaning, repairing, and reassembly of mechanical components.
Preventive Maintenance: Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce wear and tear. Perform lubrication, adjustments, and alignment of rotating and static mechanical parts. Identify worn-out components and replace them promptly to prevent equipment failure.
Installation of Mechanical Systems: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new mechanical equipment and machinery. Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and functionality of mechanical systems during installation.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and industry standards when performing maintenance tasks. Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to minimize risks. Maintain a clean and organized working environment to prevent accidents.
Material and Tool Management: Ensure effective use and storage of tools, equipment, and mechanical parts. Assist in managing the inventory of spare parts and report shortages for timely replenishment.
Collaboration and Support: Work closely with electrical, civil, and production teams to ensure seamless plant operations. Support external contractors or technicians during mechanical projects within the plant.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair outcomes. Provide daily and weekly reports on tasks completed and challenges encountered.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superiors
Education Background
Certificate Level II in Mechanical Engineering, machining and fitting or a related field from a recognized institution
Experience
At least two (2) years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repairs in a related field
Skills
Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems and machinery
Hands-on experience with tools, mechanical equipment, and machine components
Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and engineering drawings
Basic computer skills/knowledge
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience with pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
Ability to operate machine tools (e.g., lathes, grinders, or drills) for component fabrication and repair
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving
