Job Description
In addition to visual inspection, welding inspectors may perform non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), or eddy current testing (ET) to detect internal defects or discontinuities in welded joints.
Duties and Responsibilities
Visual Inspection: Welding inspectors visually examine welded joints to ensure they meet specified standards and requirements. They check for defects such as cracks, porosity, incomplete fusion, undercutting, and excessive reinforcement.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): In addition to visual inspection, welding inspectors may perform non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), or eddy current testing (ET) to detect internal defects or discontinuities in welded joints.
Interpretation of Codes and Standards: Welding inspectors interpret and apply relevant welding codes, standards, and specifications such as those published by the American Welding Society (AWS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Welding Procedure Qualification: Welding inspectors review and approve welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) to ensure they comply with applicable codes and standards. They verify that welding procedures are properly qualified for the intended application.
Welder Qualification: Welding inspectors verify the qualifications of welders by reviewing their certifications, training records, and performance qualification tests. They ensure that welders possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform welding tasks effectively and safely.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Welding inspectors maintain accurate records of welding activities, inspection results, test reports, and certifications. They ensure that all documentation is complete, organized, and readily accessible for compliance purposes and quality assurance audits.

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor with major in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proficient in English, Word, Excel, and PPT.
Minimum 6 years of experience in welding inspection in the oil & gas industry
