Job Description
The Weighbridge Officer will prepare vehicles for weighing, ensure on-the-spot imposition of road damage fees for overloaded vehicles, confirm compliance with abnormal load permits, and provide solutions to emerging road-related issues. The role also involves evaluating the performance, reliability, and safety of weighbridge scales and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and manage vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kg on public roads.
Impose road damage fees immediately for vehicles found overloaded.
Confirm compliance with abnormal load permits and direct overloaded vehicles to seek special permits.
Formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems on roads.
Evaluate and report on the performance, reliability, and safety of weighbridge scales.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Education, Psychology, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Tanzanian citizenship with an age not above 45 years.
High level of integrity and reliability.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
