Job Description
The role involves assisting with ante- and post-mortem inspections of poultry, monitoring compliance with animal welfare and humane slaughter practices, enforcing hygiene protocols during processing, collecting and documenting samples for testing, and participating in audits, incident reporting, and regulatory training programs.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in ante-mortem and post-mortem poultry inspections
Monitor compliance with animal welfare standards and humane slaughter practices
Enforce hygiene protocols during poultry processing
Collect samples for laboratory testing and ensure proper documentation
Participate in audits, report incidents, and attend regulatory training sessions
Maintain and submit daily inspection logs, welfare audit checklists, and sample collection/testing reports
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, or related field (BA/BSc/HND)
Interest or background in poultry health and welfare
Ability to adhere to regulatory and hygiene standards
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and participate in training programs
