Job Description
The Training Specialist will be responsible for delivering exceptional training workshops across training facilities, partner colleges, and in-salon environments. This includes planning and executing tailored training sessions, promoting education programs, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring all training aligns with Dermalogica standards. The role also requires strong administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Travel and flexibility are required to meet business needs and facilitate high-quality training delivery across locations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Training & Education Delivery:
Conduct interactive workshops in training centers, colleges, and salons
Deliver advanced training on products, treatments, and protocols across platforms (in-person, online, pre-recorded)
Customize training sessions to fit the audience and skill levels
Provide professional treatments to prospective clients and media representatives
Client Support & Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with therapists and salon staff
Promote ongoing engagement and brand loyalty through education
Support marketing and education events
Sales Support:
Conduct in-salon training and demonstrations to support sales growth
Identify training gaps and implement strategic education plans
Collaborate with sales teams for targeted training programs
Continuous Learning & Industry Expertise:
Stay updated on skincare trends and competitor products
Participate in professional development, trade shows, and conferences
Administration & Logistics:
Prepare materials, maintain kits and classrooms
Respond to education-related inquiries within 24 hours
Complete training reports and support operational planning
Collaborate with coordinators on scheduling and logistics

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Diploma in Somatology (NQF Level 6 or higher)
CIDESCO or ITEC qualification required
Advanced Dermal Aesthetics Diploma (advantageous)
Teaching/Assessors/Moderators Qualification (advantageous)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in the skincare industry
2 years of teaching, lecturing, or training (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle
Knowledge of current skincare trends and treatment procedures
Core Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong facilitation and presentation abilities
High attention to detail, organization, and time management
Customer-focused approach and professionalism
Adaptability, problem-solving, and proactive attitude
Digital literacy, including social media and virtual tools
