Job Description
The Technical Support Engineer II will remotely support Fujifilm’s Synapse suite, resolving complex customer issues related to software, networking, and third-party hardware. Responsibilities include documentation, communication, escalation management, and adherence to regulatory standards. The role demands strong organizational skills, customer service orientation, and flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends and holidays. On-call duties and occasional travel may be required. The engineer must demonstrate continued learning and obtain industry certifications to maintain performance standards and technical expertise.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Provide remote technical support for Synapse imaging products
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
Maintain accurate case documentation and follow escalation procedures
Respond to customer calls professionally and efficiently
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support various Synapse systems
Monitor call system dashboards and maintain proper case handling
Complete assigned training, projects, and performance goals
Adhere to company quality and regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485)
Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation
Travel occasionally for onsite support as needed
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, Trade School Certification, or equivalent experience
At least one industry certification (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco)
Proficiency in Windows OS, networking, SQL Server and/or Oracle
Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills
Ability to make independent decisions and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Synapse systems and workflows
Knowledge of HL7, DICOM, PostgreSQL, Linux, VMware, and storage solutions
Security+ certification or higher
Familiarity with Synapse administration and architecture
Physical Requirements:
Sit 75–100% of work time
Use hands for keyboarding and equipment
Stand, talk, and hear up to 75%
Occasionally lift and move objects
Other Requirements:
COVID-19 compliance with vaccine/testing protocols
Willingness to travel occasionally on short notice
Commitment to regulatory compliance and EEO standards
