Job Description
The Stock Controller will oversee the receipt, issue, and recording of inventory items and movement so as to maintain adherence to set controls while ensuring that operations run as planned. The role involves managing raw materials, packaging, and other production inputs across multiple storage locations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive and record all stock of Raw Materials, Packaging, WIP and other production Inputs.
- Issue materials to the respective usage centers as per authorized stock requisitions.
- Ensure safe custody of all stock items received.
- Maintain neatness and security in stores by ensuring they are clean and well organized.
- Work closely with the Production department to ensure that the right Quantity and Specification of material is delivered.
- Place Materials in proper storage locations as per requirements of usage.
- Ensure that all materials not part of the ongoing production run are taken off the production floor and taken to stores for safe keeping.
- Ensure proper recording of stock movement in and out of stores.
- Maintain and accurately update all stock records on a daily basis.
- Notify the stores Supervisor of Replenishment needs as appropriate.
- Coordinate transfers of stock between the various locations as instructed by the Stores Supervisor.
- Work with Quality department to ensure right quality and specifications of materials are received.
- Oversee all operations of stock movement and accountability at all off-site stores (Namanve and Busunju).
- Conduct periodic stock counts and reconciliations.
- Lead and supervise the team of Material Loaders.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors.
