Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a portfolio of existing clients within the AVMS fleet industry while identifying and pursuing new acquisition opportunities. The Specialist will provide strategic and consultative support to clients, helping them meet their fleet management and financial needs. The role includes client relationship management, sales strategy development, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and monitoring market trends and competitor activities. Responsibilities also include preparing reports for senior management and ensuring compliance with relevant market and regulatory developments.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of AVMS fleet clients

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor to clients

  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand and address their fleet management needs and business objectives

  • Provide consultative support and tailor financial solutions

  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities

  • Develop and implement client-specific and strategic sales plans

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Absa Business Banking and Corporate Investment Banking

  • Prepare and present progress and acquisition reports to senior management

  • Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (NQF Level 6)


Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in the fleet environment

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the fleet industry


Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of fleet management practices and financial products

  • Excellent relationship-building and consultative selling skills

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying business opportunities

  • Strong communication and presentation abilities

  • Knowledge of market trends and regulatory impacts
