Job Description
This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical challenges related to smart metering systems, ensuring billing and tariff setups are accurate, and supporting process improvement efforts. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple departments to provide technical insight and ensure the smooth operation of hardware and software systems. A background in engineering or electrical fields is essential, along with experience in smart metering.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair system, software, or hardware issues.
Streamline processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational errors.
Assist various departments with technical expertise and support.
Set up billing and tariff systems for smart metering.
Participate in planning and execution of technical projects.
Maintain documentation of technical procedures and configurations.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
Matric (Senior Certificate)
Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Electrical Engineering or related field)
Minimum of 4 years' hands-on experience in a technical or smart metering role
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Solid understanding of billing and tariff setup in smart metering systems
Background in Electrical/Engineering disciplines
Added Advantage:
Project management skills
IT knowledge or experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
