Job Title: Site Operations Manager

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Soleil Power Ltd is seeking a proactive and responsible Site Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and storekeeping operations of our production facility in Kirolo, Wakiso District, approximately 35km from Kampala center. This dual-role position is responsible for general site supervision, facility maintenance, staff coordination, and security oversight, as well as managing the raw material and finished goods inventory. The successful candidate must live on-site in company provided accommodation and ensure smooth operational support for all site activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Facility Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Kirolo production site.
Ensure the site is clean, safe, and organized at all times.
Coordinate routine maintenance and repair works (e.g., plumbing, electrical, structural).
Supervise general support staff, cleaners, guards, and maintenance workers.
Supervise external contractor works.
Maintain a daily log of site activities and incidents.
Security Oversight
Supervise and coordinate with on-site security personnel.
Monitor access control, gate logs, and CCTV systems.
Conduct regular inspections of the perimeter and critical areas for safety risks.
Respond to and escalate any security incidents as per company protocols.
Inventory Storekeeping
Manage inventory records of raw materials, tools, PPE, and other supplies.
Receive and inspect deliveries; update stock cards and system records.
Issue materials and parts based on approved requisitions and maintain issue logs.
Conduct weekly and monthly stock counts and report discrepancies.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of all inventory items.
Reporting & Communication
Submit weekly reports on site condition, stock levels, and security observations.
Liaise with head office and procurement for restocking and repairs.
Support audits and inventory verifications as required.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree in Logistics, Project Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in site management, project management or inventory control, preferably in a production or industrial setting.
Knowledge of inventory management systems or tools is a strong advantage.
Project and/or construction management experience is highly desirable.
Experience supervising maintenance or security personnel is desirable.
Must be willing to reside full-time on-site in company-provided accommodation.
Key Competencies:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Attention to detail and high integrity.
Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word).
Proactive, reliable, and good communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Driving and motorbike license advantageous
