Job Description
The Senior Transport Engineer will be responsible for leading and contributing to transport engineering projects, applying advanced knowledge in traffic and transport planning and engineering design. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a dynamic team, oversee project execution, and contribute technical expertise in transportation modelling and infrastructure development.
The role requires extensive experience in the transport engineering field and the ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently. A background in using advanced engineering software and a deep understanding of local transport systems and regulations is key.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to transport engineering and planning projects
Conduct traffic analyses and develop transport models using software like Sidra and PTV Vissim/Visum
Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure timely project delivery
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation for project submission and approvals
Ensure compliance with local and national engineering standards
Support the business development team in acquiring new projects through technical input

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
BSc or BTech in Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
MSc in Transport Engineering
Professional Registration:
Registered Professional Engineer or Technologist (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) – Required
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in transport engineering
Strong working knowledge of transport engineering principles and traffic systems
Software Proficiency:
Proficiency in Sidra
Knowledge of PTV Vissim/Visum is advantageous
Additional Attributes:
Ideal candidate age range: 30 – 35 years
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and project management abilities
