As a Senior Investment Analyst (SIA) at Outbox Uganda Limited, you will evaluate possible and probable opportunities for paths to scale and impact for Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) that have entered/are entering our Accelerator program.
The IA is expected to identify promising investment opportunities within specific domains, facilitate the pooling of knowledge and partners, and facilitate co-development of scalable business models that maximize the impact of the Hi-Innovator seed-funding intervention.
Market Research: Conducting thorough research on financial markets, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies, to identify potential investment opportunities and trends.
Company Analysis: Analyzing financial statements, company performance, management teams, competitive positioning, and industry dynamics to evaluate the investment potential of individual companies.
Risk Assessment: Assessing the risks associated with potential investments, including market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
Financial Modeling: Building and maintaining complex financial models to forecast future performance, assess valuation metrics, and evaluate the impact of different scenarios on investment outcomes.
Due Diligence: Conducting thorough due diligence on investment opportunities, including reviewing legal documents, conducting background checks, and assessing regulatory compliance.
Investment Recommendations: Generating investment recommendations based on comprehensive analysis and presenting findings to senior management or investment committees.
Portfolio Management: Monitoring and managing investment portfolios to ensure alignment with investment objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
Client Communication: Communicating investment recommendations and performance updates to clients, including individual investors, institutional clients, and internal stakeholders.
Thought Leadership: Staying informed about market trends, economic developments, and industry news to provide valuable insights and thought leadership to clients and colleagues.
Compliance and Ethics: Adhering to regulatory requirements and ethical standards in conducting investment research and making investment recommendations.
Continuous Learning: Keeping abreast of developments in financial markets, investment strategies, and analytical tools to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Team Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues across different departments, such as portfolio management, trading, and compliance, to achieve investment objectives and deliver superior client service.
Mentorship and Leadership: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, sharing expertise and best practices, and contributing to the professional development of team members.
