Play a key role in supporting and implementing the Company’s HR Strategy in conjunction with Management.
Assist with the development of a comprehensive induction plan, training plan, succession plan, and retention strategy.
Engage with management in a productive and solutions focused manner, sharing best practice ideas and positive ways of working.
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource statutory requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings Employee Engagement
In conjunction with management, coach and train colleagues to drive employee engagement initiatives, delivering an action planning strategy to improve engagement levels making use of the Employee feedback.
Assist with employee recognition and wellness initiatives.
The Senior Human Resource Officer is responsible for upholding the Human Resources manual and as well as ensure employee satisfaction in the organization.
Work with management to ensure effective recruitment strategy implementation, maintaining an oversight of Company vacancies.
Responsible for assisting in recruitment, from provision of job descriptions, posting positions, screening CV’s, assisting in interviewing, conducting reference checks and creating and extending offers of employment.
Maintain organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
Liaise with head hunters and recruitment agencies where applicable.
Create and standardize a new employee induction program and manage the on-boarding process for new employees.
Prepare statistical summaries and reports for management on employee data as and when required.
Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions. Employer Branding & Culture

Manage and support employee relations cases and assist with investigations ensuring that all disciplinary matters are concluded.
Advise management on Uganda Labour law regulations and compliance matters.
Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs. Manage and ensuring HR policies and procedures are followed.
Maintain employment contracts in line with allocated positions and maintain personnel files.
Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
Completing human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintain human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications/Experience required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, or any related field.
1 to 3 years of working experience in a Human Resource position
Administration skills are an added advantage
Experience in the manufacturing industry
Excellent communication skills
High level of emotional intelligence.
High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted strategic projects in conjunction with day-to-day tactical activities
Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along and work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature
