Job Description
The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for executing key financial activities including general ledger (GL) management, monthly and statutory reporting, audit coordination, and compliance with internal and external financial controls. The role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial data in OneStream, SAP alignment with reporting requirements, preparation of budgets and financial statements, and engagement with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will also assist in technical accounting matters, tax returns, South African Reserve Bank reporting, and cash flow forecasting. A strong understanding of financial reporting standards, combined with analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential for this role.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and populate monthly financial reports in OneStream
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and management of general ledger accounts
Conduct and review monthly GL and sub-ledger reconciliations
Comply with SOX controls and ensure audit readiness
Coordinate audits and implement audit recommendations
Assist in preparation of annual financial statements
Prepare and submit VAT and other tax returns in conjunction with Group Tax
Complete SARB quarterly reports and financial submissions
Participate in short-term and long-term budgeting (ST and LT)
Support cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
Draft technical position papers for accounting issues
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with financial reporting frameworks

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field
CA(SA) certification is an added advantage
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of relevant financial accounting and reporting experience
Strong working knowledge of SAP and OneStream
Proven technical skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
Skills & Competencies:
Financial analysis, accounting, and compliance management
Strong business insight and analytical thinking
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage complexity and optimize work processes
Accountability and strong planning and alignment capabilities
