Senior Executive-Operations job at Alliance Africa General Insurance Ltd

Job Description

To assess & underwrite risks in accordance with the regulatory and standard operating procedures in place, ensuring efficient service delivery to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborating with senior management to develop operational strategies and objectives aligned with the organization's overall goals and mission.

  • Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in operational processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.

  • Team Leadership: Providing leadership and direction to operational teams, including setting goals, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

  • Resource Management: Overseeing the allocation and utilization of resources such as personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance. Monitoring performance against targets and providing regular reports to senior management.

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and quality assurance processes. Implementing measures to maintain high standards of product or service quality.

  • Risk Management: Identifying operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions or adverse impacts on operations.

  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Managing relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services and negotiate favorable terms and contracts.

  • Customer Service and Satisfaction: Monitoring customer feedback and satisfaction levels. Implementing strategies to improve customer service and address any issues or concerns promptly.

  • Technology Integration: Assessing and implementing technological solutions to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and improve communication and collaboration within the organization.

  • Budget Management: Participating in the development and management of operational budgets. Monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving initiatives while ensuring effective resource allocation.

  • Change Management: Leading or supporting change initiatives within the organization, including process reengineering, organizational restructuring, or technology adoption.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and human resources to ensure alignment and coordination of activities to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Training and Development: Providing training, coaching, and mentorship to operational staff to develop their skills and capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Emergency and Crisis Management: Developing and implementing plans and procedures to address emergencies, crises, or business continuity issues that may impact operations.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics or any other business related course

  • Certificate in Insurance

  • Four years of Underwriting experience in an Insurance Company
