Job Description
Senior Assistant Accountants typically support the accounting department in various financial tasks and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Senior Assistant Accountants assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses. This may involve compiling financial data, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: They contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by collecting and analyzing financial data, preparing budget proposals, and providing insights to support decision-making.
General Ledger Management: Senior Assistant Accountants maintain the general ledger and other accounting records, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: They oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including processing invoices, issuing payments, monitoring receivables, and following up on overdue accounts.
Payroll Processing: Senior Assistant Accountants may assist in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy of employee compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings, and complying with payroll regulations.
Financial Analysis: They conduct financial analysis to evaluate performance, identify trends, and assess financial risks and opportunities. This may involve variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
Internal Controls: Senior Assistant Accountants help establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. They may also participate in internal audits and process improvements.
Tax Compliance: They assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This may include corporate income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes.

Qualifications and Competencies
