Job Description
The Security Information Analyst will be responsible for systematically collecting and analyzing security threat-related information across operational regions in Eastern Africa. The position requires close monitoring of security developments, evaluating the accuracy and relevance of data, and supporting the preparation of security briefings and threat assessments. The analyst will also conduct research, collaborate with security teams and partners, and contribute to effective information sharing and security planning.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze collected data and present it to provide an accurate picture of the current security threat landscape.
Apply security information analysis methodologies in line with client policies and procedures.
Research security threats and risks in the client's operational countries in Eastern Africa.
Monitor security incidents, media sources, and situation reports for data collection.
Evaluate the relevance, reliability, and accuracy of security-related information.
Collaborate internally and externally for cohesive information sharing and security risk analysis.
Assist in developing and maintaining information source lists.
Track and monitor events and assess their potential short-, medium-, and long-term impacts on regional security.
Prepare and contribute to reports, updates, trend analyses, and security statistics.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Security Studies.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Security Firm or Police Institution, with at least a NATO rank OR5 or police equivalent, or equivalent experience in an international institution.
Proven career background in intelligence and security information collection and threat/risk assessment.
Experience in security research and data analysis.
Proficiency in radio communication and operational procedures.
Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Valid certification in first aid.
