Job Description
As a Security Developer/Researcher, you will work within the ELS team to ensure secure use of legacy Linux systems and applications by developing and implementing essential security patches. You’ll analyze vulnerabilities in open-source PHP and JavaScript applications, backport upstream patches, and expand the coverage of supported tools. The role also involves research into the latest threat trends and participation in internal tooling development to automate workflows. Your work will have a global impact on developer security standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze security vulnerabilities in PHP and JavaScript applications/frameworks (e.g., WordPress, Angular, Node.js, Drupal)
Backport upstream patches for earlier software versions
Design and build features for internal tooling and workflow automation
Research new exploitation and malware trends to create mitigation strategies
Expand support for PHP and JavaScript applications/plugins

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Proficiency in JavaScript and/or PHP
Experience with Python or similar scripting languages
3+ years in a related field (Software Engineering, Security Research, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in vulnerability research
Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose
Upper-intermediate or higher English language skills
Preferred:
Understanding of the vulnerability lifecycle
Strong knowledge of Linux environments
